Dervish Moon

This painting was in part inspired by the opening scene to Vengo by Tony Gatlif. A beautiful Sufi/Flamenco fusion of music with a woman whirling in ecstatic trance and exuberance.

Dervish Moon

Souls entwined thru’ heaven’s path, the dervish reaches deep within, and gathers Luna as her own.

Atop the mount, ascension known, her divine greets thy silvery bliss.

…

For those before this sacred time, do also know this joy of tears, whose flow is ever woman’s way, for now embracing in the dance. She knows. She is.

And Luna! Smiles, her water drawn, within the whirling, forms of flow, her spiral element so free, so clear. She softly calls ‘downstream in vortices…’

Whilst singular of point, of now, the axis of thy mundi be, is her, the dervish in the dance, and all will cease in pain or fear. For free she is.

Inhaling waves of sounding love, they know no form ‘cept that of joy, and so… releases freedom’s flight, she sees… with eyes that feel, that sense, that are, be drawn into the ever dance, with thee…

And into waves of sacred light, do let her take you, slip your lead, your blindfold gone. Oh! Lose location, ‘bandon sense… for every breath, creation’s fire, is of her dance.

Perfection of her soul expressed through dance upon eternity, she feels no need for certainty… just love. For sending love rewards itself, in flowered firmament that grants perfection to within.

She yearns – you dream – of grace, release, find unity that is of peace. And know she’ll en-trance every soul, for you and I we have no choice but listen to her perfect voice.

And all that ever will, and all that ever be, is known…. just love
