The Winter Tree

Jack Frost biting, nips the air
Silver shining, notes the hare
who watches Mother Nature’s glee
as she creates the Winter Tree

The sparkle of her diamond shroud
reflects the grey of winter clouds,
as deep within our Mother Earth
lies buried treasure, gifts of birth -

that dwell in witness silently
whilst wisdom rises, yet unseen
as Solstice nexus, magickly
initiates the Winter Tree

To gaze upon the pale blue skies
with irridescent, twinkling eyes,
her shards that capture wind and sun
in knowledge that we overcome -

The trials as hibernation calls
as we withdraw inside our walls,
and comfort, warmly, round the fire -
Oh log of Yule – The blessed pyre -
of sacrifice to thee and me,
gifted by the Winter Tree.

So, viewer, as you gaze entranced,
within the spell the painter cast,
In the knowledge that your dreams,
are fulfilled now! ‘Tis Alchemy!
